Does She Ever Get It Wrong?

I love how Sienna Miller puts an outfit together. I would never think of adding that red lip and distressed chunky brown belt to such a shimmery glamorous dress, but it's spot on. She was obviously inspired by my bangs as she recently cut some to copy me. I kid, I kid. She gets an "A" in my book, as does Mr. Williamson who looks dashing.

Fashion in the Fast Lane: Bryant Park West

Calling all Bay Area fashionistas and philanthropists! We are now 10 days away from the 2nd annual Bryant Park West Fashion Show, and it's time to buy your tickets and plan your outfits. I attended this posh event last year and I can attest that it makes for a really fun evening of fashion set in one of Sonoma's most beautiful wineries. This year the theme is "Heels and Wheels" as they have partnered with Infineon Raceway's Historic Motorsports Weekend. Incredible fashions and sublime vino meets vintage automobiles in the dramatic Tuscan ambience of Sonoma Valley's Jacuzzi Winery. Sounds dreamy, right? Featured designers include fashions new darlings Hunter Dixon as well as up-and-coming design ingenue Samantha Sleeper for N PRPA and swimsuit label La Isla Couture. Classic Cars will be displayed outside and there is a silent auction where you can bid on everything from raceway hotlaps and classic car tours to sleek scooters, and of course, fashions right off the runway. Here are some images from their promo photoshoot...

I hope you all can make it! Here are some more official details on the upcoming event:

Producer and Sonoma native Sarah Haggberg of J for Jordan Productions has worked with acclaimed designers in San Francisco, New York and throughout the Bay Area. Last year’s inaugural Bryant Park West experienced great success and featured an exclusive collection by Project Runway’s Rami Kashou
“The idea for this event is to take my fashion show experience working with top designers at Olympus Fashion Week in Bryant Park and create a New York-styled show in Sonoma. Guests will be in heaven as they spend a beautiful summer evening in Wine Country, relishing the latest fashion trends and gorgeous vintage wheels, not to mention indulging in fresh artisan cuisine, champagne and Jacuzzi’s exquisite wines," says Haggberg. "Attendees will also have an opportunity to mingle with designers and stylists and even purchase what they see in the show that night."

Hunter Dixon, co-founded three years ago by Southern-born pair Hunter Bell and Jennifer Dixon, continues to dazzle fashionistas nation wide with feminine, flirty and whimsical designs. Their remarkable tops, dresses and jackets have been spotlighted in such publications including ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Lucky Magazine, IN STYLE and People Style Watch. The sexy La Isla Couture was established in Colombia, South America in 2003 and has been recognized around the globe for its hip, chic, and trendy swimwear, described by many as “the perfect fusion between latin style and true American spirit”—owing to the founders’ distinct cultural roots and the fact that all its pieces are designed and manufactured in the U.S.A. Sports Illustrated, Seventeen, Instyle, Zink!, Oxygen, the LA Times, New Canaan and HispaniMagazine have all featured La Isla in their pages. Go to www.laislacouture.com for more information.
Located in the heart of the Sonoma-Carneros Region, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards is a mere 45 minutes north of San Francisco. The 18,000-square-foot winery is modeled after the Jacuzzi family home in Udine, Italy. Under magnificent pieces of Italian art, Venetian-style glass chandeliers and handmade furnishings, visitors can sample award-winning wines including  Barbera, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Primitivo and Sangiovese.

Sonoma Valley Teen Services, the beneficiary of the show's proceeds, represents the merger of two critical teen service organizations: Operation Youth and Valley of the Moon Teen Center. Overall, Sonoma Valley Teen Services aims to promote teens well-being and life skills through job readiness, good decision-making practices, safe spaces, academic tutoring, access to the arts, healthy meal
planning and more.

Dreaming of a Thai Vacation

As someone who suffers from frequent and intense cases of wanderlust, I am constantly researching my next adventure. Thailand is definitely on my list of places to visit, and this luxurious Four Seasons resort looks completely dreamy. It's basically the Four Seasons version of glamping. It is comprised of 15 elevated, tented accommodations that are decorated in styles reminiscent of 19th-century adventure expeditions and is located in the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Burma and Laos meet. The tents are situated on a hill overlooking the Ruak River, Burma and the mountains of Laos or the jungle. The hotel offers trekking expeditions via elephant and excursions to meet local hill tribes. If elephant isn't your favorite mode of transportation, you can stay behind and get a spa treatment, enjoy a gourmet meal, sample some wines from their extensive wine list or simply hang out on your private deck and take in the exotic surroundings. Sign me up!

Hunter Dixon

I was introduced to the feminine, flirty designs of Hunter Dixon about a year ago. Hunter Dixon is a collaboration between Southern duo Hunter Bell and Jennifer Dixon. They founded their line three years ago and it has been growing ever since. Hunter Dixon clothing is a favorite among  the celebrity and socialite set, and I am dying to get my hands on their designs. No one in SF carries them yet, but they were just picked up by Saks so we will all have more access to their adorable clothing very soon. I think this is just the beginning for these two, and I can't wait to watch and see what they come up with next. Check out some images from their Spring/Summer 2010 look book...

My friend Sally wore this to a wedding recently and I can tell you that it is amazing on. I want it.

I am coveting this blouse! I love the big ruffles on the shoulders.

Casual and chic...the coral shirt paired with the skinny yellow belt is to die. The perfect weekend look.

Charleston Mid-Century Modern

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I have had a couple people ask me why I haven't done a Charleston post yet since I was there for four days last week. The truth is that I am a total dunce and forgot my camera. In lieu of a post about my trip, I am going to post some images of Angie Hranowsky's uber chic mid-century modern home in Charleston. A couple months ago StyleCourt reported that Angie was selling this home which made me very sad and also caused me to daydream for a couple solid hours about how I would relocate to Charleston and move into this charming little home. It has been painstakingly renovated and is a very rare style for that neck of the woods, so I'm sure it sold quickly. Oh well, a girl can dream. Enjoy!

Angie is a master at selecting interesting, affordable art. She has a knack for creating beautiful groupings and compositions.

She has used David Hick's La Fiorentina in several of her projects, but it is in her home as well! I love the Danish chairs with the La Fiorentina covered cushions.

Having perused her portfolio of work, I noticed that she repeatedly selects off-beat, unique lighting. Here she has paired a large scale Asian/1970's table lamp with an Oly Studio Pico cocktail table and cream moroccan pouf.

Beautiful ebonized floors and clean-lined kitchen design. I think I spy marble in the toe kick.

Super cute lucite counter stools.

Pool party? Yes, please!

New Dress A Day

I was just introduced to the blog New Dress A Day. I am so impressed with the skills and creativity of the blog's author, Marisa. Her vow is to spend a year forgoing traditional clothing shopping (oh, the horror!) and to instead only spend $1 a day on vintage items that she transforms it into the most darling outfits. If you love fashion and are a sucker for a good before and after (like me) you should definitely stop by her blog. Click *here*, you won't be disappointed!

SF Decorator Showcase

I had a wonderful afternoon at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase with two of my favorite interior designers, Janel Holiday Huff and Sara Reedy. There were several rooms that we unanimously agreed were our favorites. Among them was Suzanne Tucker's breathtaking dining room that was filled spectacular antiques, custom upholstery details and styled with crystals, coral, shells and various other natural curiosities. The round dining table sat atop a gorgeous Persian carpet from Tony Kitz that was in the most attractive shades of buttery yellow I have ever seen. A large yellow Rothko-like painting further complemented the area rug and served as a nice counterpart to the 18th and 19th century pieces.

The bookcase was masterfully curated.

Another one of our favorite rooms was a bedroom by Will Wick. He was inspired by the film "The Talented Mr. Ripley" which was set in coastal Italy. The cerused oak floor, hanging rattan egg chair, white unlined linen window treatments and monumentally scaled Richard Mizrach photograph (which was hoisted over the balcony because it was too big to bring in the conventional way) gave the room a sense of weightless floating. Everything was soft, serene and so tastefully styled. If I had to pick a favorite, this would be it....

Another fun room was by Philpotts Interiors. This room had a turquoise lacquered daybed surrounded by lot's of neutral textiles of various weights and textures. It had an organic Asian vibe going on...

Several other rooms I loved (Coup d'Etat's library and Sagrera Brazil Design's dressing room and bathroom) but I didn't get any post-worthy shots. Katie Denham over at Katiedid took some great photos of the library, so click *here* to see Coup d'Etat's handiwork. Overall, the house was great and hugely inspiring, so check it out if you get the chance. I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Ciao.

Blurry, sad photos by moi....beautifully composed, clear photos by Janel Holiday Huff.
